How To Create, Share & Load Your Own Brushes

I already created 7 Brush packages that you can download for free here, But sometimes you just want to create your own brushes, so in this post I will show you within minutes how you can save, share and load your own brushes.

Its very simple, you just start designing your creation that you would like to transform into a brush. Make sure you have a white or transparent background because when you create a brush only the dark/black colors will be transformed into a brush. I ended up with this:

I was satisfied with my design so I decided to create a brush out of it. All you have to do is, go to the menu, click on Edit and now click on Define Brush. Photoshop will ask you to give your brush a name. Give your brush a name and click on OK.

You have now created and saved your brush, that you can find back in your Photoshop brush panel.

Now lets save it on your computer so you can use it on different computers or share it with other people. Go to your brush Preset Manager.

Now select the brushes you would like to save, “hold Shift to select multiple brushes”. When you are done selecting all your brushes that you would like to save as a brush package, click Save Set.

Save the ABR file on your computer anywhere you want, that’s it. Importing new brushes into Photoshop is similar as saving your brushes but instead of clicking Save Set in your Preset Manager, click the Load button.

That’s it good luck.
